Veterinary Department

Meet our Veterinary Team!

Our dedicated team provides care to in-house animals, welfare clients, foster animals and injured wildlife. We also treat any emergency cases such as RTAs which may come through our doors.

The veterinary department at the JSPCA Animal’s Shelter care for:

In house animals: any animals that have been disclaimed to the JSPCA or strays that have not been claimed. They help to get them ready for their new homes by performing health checks, undergoing any necessary medical or surgical procedures and providing this care until they have found their forever home.

Foster Dogs and Cats: this is a dog or a cat that has an underlying medical issue which means their new owner can be registered with the JSPCA Animal’s Shelter to receive ongoing veterinary care at a reduced cost.

Welfare Client’s Pets: any person who receives income support is legible for veterinary care at the JSPCA for their pets.

Wildlife: the veterinary department have a real passion for Jersey’s Wildlife and will happily treat, monitor and rehabilitate to ensure they have every chance of getting back out into the wild.

The veterinary department at the JSPCA Animal’s Shelter has grown over the years so as to support the growing demand of veterinary care for the animals listed above.

We are also actively involved in animal welfare education

Currently we have:

3 Veterinary Surgeons

3 Veterinary Nurses

1 Student Veterinary Nurse

1 Veterinary Care Assistant

6 days to go! Who has signed up for the 5k #saveourshelter run?

This is going to be a great event and we would love to see as many people as possible.

Can you believe that Chelsea is still searching for her new home? Please help us find her a wonderful new family before the end of 2018.

It's so sad and you would be making such a difference by adopting a rescue cat.

Release footage of a female Kestrel in our care in Nov 2018 - showing she made a full recovery!

Well done teams for all your hard work.

Please help us continue our work for many years to come - https://t.co/gWI4R0XvFb
