Hi Everybody! My name is Chestnut. I’m a female Syrian hamster looking for a new home to call my own.

I have the most beautiful soft and glossy brown fur and its definitely my best feature.

I arrived at the JSPCA very nervous and very wary of humans. However, after lots of time and patience from the staff, along with the help of some of my favourite treats, I am slowly coming out of my shell.

I’m still very nervous of handling so would ideally suit an experienced owner who has dealt with nervous hamsters before to help me get used to handling.

I need to live in a multi level cage, as I’m very active, with lots of enrichment and toys to keep me occupied!

If you are interested in adopting me then you will need to bring in proof of address from the past 2 months and landlord permission if you’re in rented accommodation. The staff will need to see photos of the set up you have to make sure it’s the perfect home for me.
