UPDATE Hi guys it’s Sassy Pants and I’m back up for adoption again unfortunately I’m not having luck in the new home department as every time it’s looking like I’m close to going out I end up back up for adoption again. I would like to inform you that it has been several months since I have gone to the toilet outside of my litter tray which is a massive achievement for me and the staff! I still enjoy my daily walks and my food in toys to keep me entertained. I even got a job! I’m a model now for jewellery in gallery magazine and I don’t me to blow my own trumpet but DAMN do I look good! Please read my original write up below and see if I would be a good fit for you.
Hi my name is Sassy Pants a 4 year old Sphinx, and I’m here to tell you the story of why I’m looking for a new home. The beginning of my life was spent in a dark basement in the UK with several other cats, I was used for breeding until eventually I was rescued by a shelter who took me in, they found me a new home over here but unfortunately that didn’t work out for me and I ended up at the JSPCA. I first arrived here in February of this year, I stayed here for two months before being adopted out to a new home. Unfortunately due to some issues I was brought back, turns out I sometimes urinate in places I shouldn’t in the home. At the shelter the staff have been doing lots of work to figure out why I do this and how to reduce it. They realised that I wee on blankets and matts placed on the floor or in my scratching post so they’ve been removed from my room and now I don’t wee there anymore.
I have to be an indoor only cat due to my sensitive skin and possibly being a carrier of cat flu however I also have been harness and lead trained and love going out for walks on site, the staff have also seen that I urinate a lot less when I’ve had a walk. This means I can go outside and not have to interact with other cats. I am the friendliest cat ever, I love attention and my favourite place to be is sitting on someone’s lap or travelling round on their shoulder. I’m also a massive foodie, I’m on a special diet as I have a sensitive stomach but I don’t mind as I get it in slow feeders and other fun toys as I need lots of entertaining as I’m very active and playful!
I’m not allowed to live with other cats due to potentially being a cat flu carrier. A lot of people call me ugly which hurts my feelings as I’m such a sweet girl and I don’t think looks matter, however the staff all adore me and think I’m amazing so who cares what the haters think. If your looking for a cuddly affectionate cat then look no further as I love getting as close to people as I can when it comes to cuddles, I know no boundaries.
I’m what they call a foster cat, meaning whoever adopts me would bring me to the vet at the JSPCA as I have a problem with my eye sight, it doesn’t stop me though. I need a home with children 10+ because even though I’m friendly any loud young children running around may cause me stress and that might make my urinating issue worse. I need to be homed to someone who is around a lot of the time as I get stressed when I’m left for too long on my own.
If you are interested in adopting me then you will need to bring in proof of address from the past 2 months and landlord permission if you’re in rented accommodation. The staff will need to come round to your house for a home visit to make sure it’s the perfect home for me.
We ask for a minimum adoption fee of £100 (which I am definitely worth!) I am also microchipped, vaccinated and neutered.
