Baby Hedgehog found

This baby hedgehog arrived yesterday after being found out in the hot sun yesterday near Bellozanne. On examination by our veterinary department it was evident that she was mildly dehydrated. Also she was covered in fly eggs!

Some of these fly eggs had hatched into maggots and had crawled up into her vulva!! Our dedicate staff removed all the creepy crawlies.

This morning she is was doing well and traveled to Dru at the Jersey Hedgehog Preservation Group for ongoing support until she’s ready to be released. Wishing you a speedy recovery little hedgehog! ????

Dru has updated us with the last photo and is now called “Jessie”.
