We are very lucky at the JSPCA Animals’ Shelter to have a dedicated veterinary team on site for the animals in our care, strays and wildlife.
Having a veterinary team on site means we are able to assess any wildlife that comes into our care straight away and start their treatment as soon as possible, whether that’s undertaking diagnostic x-rays or performing surgery. The veterinary department has a real passion for Jersey’s wildlife and will happily treat, monitor and rehabilitate to ensure they have every chance of getting back out into the wild.
Along with treating injured wildlife, the veterinary team also provides veterinary care for animals that have been disclaimed to us or strays that have not been claimed. The team helps to get them ready for their new homes by performing health checks, undergoing any necessary medical or surgical procedures and providing this care until they have found their forever home.
