First Aid for Professional Dog Walkers

As part of the Professional Dog Walkers Welfare Code, issued by the Government of Jersey, it is advised for professional dog walkers to be trained in dog first-aid.

We are excited to announce that the JSPCA is now offering a First Aid Course for Professional Dog Walkers. If you are not a professional dog walker, yet still wish to learn about First Aid in dogs, then you are also welcome on this course.

You can choose from one of two new dates:

25th January

22nd February

All courses take place from 6pm – 8pm at the JSPCA Animals’ Shelter, 89 St Saviour’s Road.

Parking available.

What will you learn?

  • Recognising an emergency
  • What to do in an emergency
  • Preparing for an emergency
  • Contents of Pet First Aid Kit and their usage
  • Recovery Position
  • Common situations for first aid, the clinical signs and what first aid measures to take
  • How to check a dog’s vital signs
  • CPR

The cost of the course is £45 (+ booking fee)

All of the funds raised goes to the JSPCA and the work we carry out across the Island.

Classes are limited so it is a first come first served basis. Please follow these links to book your place:
