The JSPCA’s own Service Support Manager, Tracy Millington, has been awarded the Petplan Animal Charity Employee of the year Award 2024!

Awarded on the 14th of May 2024, Tracy Millington beat 7,846 other nominees to be named the overall winner of the Animal Charity Employee of the Year Award! Congratulations Tracy! And thank you for all your hard work! The award could not have gone to someone more deserving of it.

The Petplan Awards have been running for 25 years now. They celebrate the hard work and dedication of charity staff, recognising those who inspire their clients and colleagues with their commitment and passion.

Petplan collaborates with the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes (ADCH) to celebrate animal charities and rehoming centres. These awards give thanks to teams and individuals committed to improving the lives of animals in need

How are the awards judged?

The Petplan & ADCH Animal Charity Awards are judged by an impartial and independent panel of key industry representatives.

“The judging panel put their own industry knowledge and experience to the test as they discuss and agree who the finalists and winners in each category should be. Petplan has no involvement in the judging process.” (Petplan)

How the finalists and winners are selected

“From the thousands of nominations received, the judges have a very difficult task to narrow down the shortlist to just three finalists in each category. The finalists are all invited to attend the awards luncheon where the winners are announced.

The judges specifically look for clear examples of:

  • Exceptional levels of care and compassion
  • Outstanding knowledge, expertise and communication
  • Those that go above and beyond their duties to improve animal welfare

The role of selecting the finalists and winners is an extremely tough job.” –(Petplan)
