Hi everyone I’m Barney I’m a 1 year old Male Neutered Lhasa Apso 🐶

I’m full of beans and a lot of fun to be around once I know you. Im a sucker for a cuddle 🤗and love a good fuss! I really enjoy learning new things and playing with my toys! Tennis balls are one of my favourites 🎾

I am nervous of strangers and have been doing training to help me feel comfortable around new people. I am also nervous around dogs, so training will need to be kept up in my new home 🏠 . I have recently made a few new doggy friends here at the JSPCA and am over the moon that I now have doggy pals to play with 🐕. This did take a lot of slow introductions and being mixed with the right dogs to suit my personality.

I do have a bite history, so I will need a home with patient owners who are willing to continue all of my training needed 🙂

I will need a quiet home🤫, somewhere I can relax and be myself, I wouldn’t appreciate noisy neighbours as this would upset me and encourage me to bark. I would not cope with being walked in built up areas! I need quiet lanes and fields to run around in. I would prefer a garden as I really enjoy playing with my toys 🧸 and getting the zoomies, this also will help with my toilet training. But if you don’t have a garden than that means more walkies for me 🐾

I unfortunately can’t live with any cats 🐈 as they are far too exciting! I could possibly live with a female dog 🐶 depending on introductions, but ideally I would like to be the only pet. 💤 Unfortunately because of my bite history I am not going to be rehomed with children 👶 an adult only home would suit me best.

I have some skin problems but it is under control. This means I am eligible for medical assistance which means I can use the JSPCA Assisted Veterinary Clinic.

The staff will ask you for proof of address from the past 2 months and landlords permission (if you’re in rented accommodation).The staff will also need to carry out a home visit, which will be undertaken via video call, to ensure it’s the perfect home for me 🤗

I know I need a lot of training but I will make the best companion for the right owner!
